Life Events
The Bible likens life as a journey; a journey which will have its fair share of highs and lows, good times and bad. As a chaplaincy we want you to know that we are here for you at every stage of that journey and wish to support you in whatever way we can.
As well as a range of courses, such as parenting, marriage enrichment, money management and baptism preparation, we also want to support you in some of the more major points along that journey.
Weddings.
We are not able to offer weddings, only blessings.
A wedding blessing after a civil ceremony will add a spiritual dimension to your marriage. Seeking God’s blessing and His help and guidance in your new life together is the main attraction for many couples.
A wedding blessing is an opportunity for the bride and groom to commit to one another before God and it follows a legal civil marriage. Pastoral Support
We have trained individuals who are available to call on you at home or in hospital. Prayer is important to us, and whether it be for some life event, struggle or healing request then please contact us and we will gladly pray for you and those that you love.
Renewal of vows.
Renewal of Wedding Vows is a way to celebrate your marriage, maybe on a special wedding anniversary, or simply as an opportunity for a husband and wife to reaffirm their commitment to each other. It may be a large celebration, or a small intimate affair. Our chaplain can chat to you about your wishes and will help you plan a service to make it as personal and special as possible.
Funerals.
Our chaplain is available to conduct funerals for your loved one, both in a church of your choosing and/or the crematorium. This regardless of whether you have had any prior connection with the church or not. If you would like to have a church funeral then please make your wishes known to the undertaker.
Baptisms.
Baptism marks the beginning of the journey of faith and symbolises turning towards Jesus and joining the community of the church. As well as Baptisms, we also offer Thanksgiving Services, where we thank God for the gift of a new child and pray for them and for their family. Confirmation is also available for teenagers and adults.
